O Starzplay, o serviço internacional de streaming premium da Starz, anunciou neste fim de semana na CCXP que a segunda temporada da série Pennyworth estreia na plataforma no domingo, 28 de fevereiro de 2021, na Áustria, Bélgica, Alemanha, Irlanda, Itália, Luxemburgo, Holanda, Espanha, Suíça, Reino Unido e América Latina. A cada semana chegam novos episódios.
A série Pennyworth mostra Alfred Pennyworth (Jack Bannon – “The Imitation Game”), um ex-soldado britânico do Serviço Aéreo Especial (SAS) de 20 anos, que formou uma empresa de segurança em Londres em 1960 e trabalha com o jovem bilionário Thomas Wayne (Ben Aldridge – “Our Girl”, “Reign”, “Fleabag”), antes deste se tornar o pai de Bruce Wayne.
Além de Bannon e Aldridge, a segunda temporada de “Pennyworth” tem o retorno de Emma Paetz (“Gentleman Jack”), Hainsley Lloyd Bennett (“Eastenders”), Ryan Fletcher (“Outlander”), Dorothy Atkinson (“Hanna”, “Harlots”, “Call the Midwife”), Ian Puleston-Davies (“Tin Star”, “Marcella”), Paloma Faith (“The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus”) e Jason Flemyng (“The Curious Case of Benjamin Button”). No início deste ano, foi anunciado que James Purefoy (“The following”, “Sex Education”, “Altered Carbon”), Edward Hogg (“Taboo”, “Harlots”, White Lightning), Jessye Romeo (“Curfew”, “In the Long Run”), Ramon Tikaram (“Brassic”, “The Victim”) e Harriet Slater (“Faunutland and the Lost Magic”) se juntam ao elenco como regulares da série.
Baseada em personagens da DC criados por Bob Kane com Bill Finger, a série dramática da Warner Bros. Television tem produção executiva de Bruno Heller (“Gotham”, “The Mentalist”, “Rome”), Danny Cannon (“Gotham”, franquia “CSI”) e Matthew Patnick (“The Night Manager”, “Peaky Blinders”).
